Calm Residential Area Photoshoot

We met at Yoyogi Koen Station, and just as the session began, it started raining unexpectedly. We quickly bought umbrellas—700 yen each—only to have the rain stop about 15 to 20 minutes later. The timing was ironic, but it gave us a unique opportunity to capture two completely different moods of Shibuya in one photoshoot. At first, I photographed the soft, cinematic atmosphere of a rainy Tokyo street. Wet pavement, muted tones, and reflective surfaces created a calm and slightly dramatic urban feel. Then, as the sun came out right after the rain, the city transformed. The light became bright and clear, adding fresh contrast to the scene. During the session, I guided her to my favorite café, nearby railway spots, and several hidden streets around Shibuya that many visitors overlook. Combining rainy-day ambience with post-rain sunshine gave this Tokyo street photoshoot a distinctive and dynamic character that would have been impossible to plan intentionally.
